Not everyone can be happy all the time!

The sizzle of summer in a wood swing!

Summer is the time to let life slow down a bit.

Relax and unwind while you rock back and forth on your new Sittin’ Easy wood swing. Book and cup of tea in hand. Forgot the laundry, dinner, and the garden. It can wait! Invest an hour in yourself. You deserve it.

It’s time to prioritize relaxation! So put your hand on your heart and repeat after me…..I vow to refresh, rejuvenate, renew, and repeat. It will elongate your life, of this I am sure!

Or at least lower your blood pressure!

There’s a reason those of us with baby experience know to gently rock babies to sleep. Back and forth rocking motion makes them happy eventually lulling them into oblivion.

You’ll get that same content feeling rocking or swinging on Sittin’ Easy gliders, rockers, or porch swings.

The most soothing way to recharge your weary batteries! Blink and summer will be over. Spend time with your kids and grandkids in your new Sittin’ Easy swing before it’s too late!

And there’s definitely enough room in this 4 ft. wood swing for two adults and two smaller kids if you don’t mind being close.

Assembly for your wood swing

There are separate assembly instructions for the porch swing, swing stand and swing canopy. Each is easy to follow. We started first with assembling the porch swing.

A good “rule of thumb” is to make sure you have all the bits and pieces for assembly before starting the process. So after double-checking the contents of the shipping carton for all three products we proceeded.

Two thumbs up, everything was included!

The wood swing itself is one big piece so all you have to do is to attach the arms followed by the chains. It’s super easy and won’t take more than 15-20 minutes. Follow the instructions and you will be done in no time at all.

Next, we put together the swing stand. Tom and I worked on the stand together. It was convenient having an extra pair of hands holding the wood pieces while the other person tightened nuts and bolts. The stand took about 20 minutes.

Last, we put the canopy together. There are a few poles and bolts to put together but it’s a fairly easy process. Again, two sets of hands make it simpler.

After assembly, you will appreciate both the look and design of the canopy. The cross poles make the swing set aesthetically pleasing and functional.

The holes on the cross poles are designed to rest over the eyebolts from the top of the stand which allows for four adjustable canopy positions.

The canopy easily comes on and off, adjust as needed. If you want sun, simply store the canopy folded in your shed. It’s also smart to remove the canopy before a rain or wind storm.

A stand to stand up for!

Tom and I have always wanted a swing but have no place to hang one. Therefore, we require a swing stand.

Prior to arrival, I did have a few misgivings. Would the Sittin’ Easy stand be heavy? Bulky? Difficult to assemble?

All my fears were relieved immediately when the stand arrived.

Not only was the stand super easy to put together, but it’s also very portable. Surprisingly for a stand so sturdy and well-made, it’s easy to move when needed.

Our new swing/stand is on our lawn overlooking the lake, so periodically it does need to get moved to mow.

Tom and I can move it in a jiffy. Tom could do it himself as it’s not heavy but for balance purposes, it’s more convenient to have two people.

The stand is ideal. It holds the swing and canopy without being this humongous piece of furniture in your yard. Even better: it doesn’t kill the lawn.

We love it! You can easily slide off the swing if it’s easier to move without it. Or leave the swing on with a second pair of hands.

It’s easy to take the wood swing on and off the stand if you want to bring it inside your garage, sun room, or shed to protect it from rain. That’s never a big deal.

The ethos of eco-conscious living with beautiful Appalachian white oak!

Hand-fashioned out of native North American Appalachian white oak, hardwood furniture crafted by Sittin’ Easy is sustainable making it environmentally sound. It’s on par with teak!

White oak can be re-grown during a human lifetime as these trees grow rapidly. White oak aggressively renews itself in the wild.

The U.S. Forest Service reports more white oaks growing now than 50 or even 100 years ago! As we look to the future, this trend is expected to continue!

Of over 400 species of oak, white oak is the only one naturally water resistant. Waterproof wood is essential when crafting outdoor furniture, especially if your pieces will be exposed to elements like rain and snow.

Since white oak is naturally decay resistant, there’s no need to treat it with toxic chemicals. Instead, the company promotes an exterior penetrating linseed oil finish. Also consider that varnishes or polyurethanes are to be avoided because they can chip, peel, crack, and are toxic. Bleh!

Their linseed oil finish is much easier to maintain and use than the surface coating finish!

And Sittin’ Easy has been going green before it became trendy to be green~ 40 years of earth-friendly furniture!

In fact, our American forefathers used Appalachian white oak for all the reasons above to make things like barrels, wagons, fence posts, gristmill water wheels, parts of ships, tools, railroad crossties, and farm machinery.

What more could you want than hand-crafted furniture made from Appalachian white oak that is both durable and beautiful?

Fast fact: White oak contains “tyloses” which makes it impenetrable by liquids.

Kids in a stand

Kiln-dried furniture is the key to quality….

The creme de la creme wood furniture is always kiln-dried for quality. The company founder, Walter Harper visited many antique shops and museums where he found items lasting over 100 years in inclement weather were traditionally made of white oak.

Since this epiphany, top-grade kiln-dried White Oak has been the cornerstone of his company.

If moisture is present in unseasoned furniture, shrinking and swelling of joints will occur, causing them to work loose and eventually come apart.

Moisture-laden furniture also tends to warp and crack. Sittin’ Easy kiln-dries their top-grade white oak to a 7-9% moisture content prior to making furniture.

The hardness of the white oak resists dents, scars, and scratches, looking beautiful year after year.

Sittin’ Easy joints do not come apart because the white oak is pre-shrunk before processing. Robust mortise and tenon joints are glued and pounded in.

Translation: Sittin’ Easy does not cut corners!

The hardware included for assembly are durable steel bolts with a yellow-zinc dichromate plated (golden) finish that lasts much longer than just plain stainless steel bolts.

So when you purchase furniture from Sittin’ Easy, I hope you’re ready for a lifetime of use.

Have an heir in mind, too, because you’ll be able to pass these pieces to that favorite relative or friend. Sittin’ Easy furniture is that well-made!

Furniture for the long haul from an all-USA company!

Nothing better than supporting companies born and bred in the good old USA!

Handcrafted wood furniture and accessories in Eagle Springs, North Carolina, Sittin’ Easy was born in 1978. Walter Harper, the founder of Sittin Easy’ realized there were no porch swings on the market that met his high ideals.

After numerous attempts and many trial and error designs, he came up with just the right curvature using flexible yet strong slats.  The results revolutionized the porch swing market where many failed attempts have been made at duplicating such innovation.

Any purchase from Sittin’ Easy is supporting a company with good moral values and integrity. The phenomenal workmanship in their products reflects this image.

When you buy from Sittin’ Easy, you are helping good Americans support their families. Hardworking people just like you and me.

Not only do they boast excellent porch swings, gliders, and rockers, but they also create dining table options, chaise lounges, and attractive planter boxes. Check out their entire inventory here!

All made out of that incredible Appalachian White Oak sure to last a lifetime.

M husband and I always wanted a porch swing ever since we went on a vacation that had some on the cabin’s porches. Unfortunately we never had a porch and we forgot as time flew by! Now I really don’t know who I would sit on the swing with 😢 Unfortunately my husband died last year from liver cancer. I have no idea who I would sit with! I never liked the word widow, but that’s what I am now after 41 years!
I would sit there by myself with an animal of nature. It’ll be so cute!
