Who Am I?
Well, first and foremost, I’m a Christian. I know, it’s what everyone in America says and in the same breath hurriedly states…but I’m not one of those Christians. Well…I am one of those Christians. You know. The imperfect ones. The ones we’re all trying to avoid. The ones with the “Jesus Rocks” bumper sticker (beep beep) who cuts you off in traffic- well minus the bumper sticker. And I drive far too slow to cut you off in traffic.
But I will say this for myself. I do love Jesus and try to emulate Him every day of my life. And yes, I’m very imperfect.
Secondly, I’m a wife and mother. I’ve been married to Tom for 9 years and have two children, Emma 6 and Esther who is 4. Tom and I were just laughing the other day about how we both think we’re actually happier being married than we’d thought we’d be the day we got married. And being a mother….speechless.
I also have two dogs, Benji and Weiner (if you *think* you know a Weinerdog joke that I haven’t heard yet that’s what the contact page is for).
I grew up in one of those everybody pitches in and helps kinda families. We always had a garden. We all worked hard. We sowed. We reaped. And then around 14-years-old I got my first job working on a veggie farm. I picked corn, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, broccoli or whatever at 7 in the morning laboring next to the migrant workers. I plucked, planted and packaged produce all day long. A promotion on the farm means you get to drive tractor.
And this is my blog. I’ll do most the writing but on the technology side of things, well, that’s all Tom. He’s an almost technology teacher. I say almost because he switched to physed. [Insert your best gym teacher joke, anecdote, or fond memory here].
Love,
Laura =)
