Don't eat flowers if you have asthma, allergies or hay fever!Be careful to eat only flowers that you can positively identify as edible. A Bit More On Nitrogen…

Nitrogen is probably the most useful of all the elements to plants. It's important for good leaf development and color and is at the heart of foliage ornamentals and crop plants.
