Let’s talk about drainage holes & plugs in Veradek Planters

The Veradek block planters will shine outside on my concrete patio because they can handle the elements. But they are designed so well that they could also be used inside. Especially in an office building.

Why? Because they come with two plugs. So if you have any fear of them leaking, just put in the plugs that come with the product before filling with soil. I left the plugs out when I filled them, but it’s your choice!

Leaving the plugs out allows for the water to drain to the bottom of the pot. Why is this importnat? Because this feature ensures that your plants won’t get waterlogged.

Fill with the soil of your choice. Maybe that’s potting soil, topsoil, or a combination of the two with compost.

But don’t worry about filling with pricey potting soil because you don’t have to fill the whole planter. Nope.

The height of the planter is 18 inches. But there’s a capped layer in the middle so only the first 12 inches of the planter requires soil. Still plenty deep for your plants to grow roots.

So you get the chic look of a bigger planter without the expense of filling the entire space with potting soil that needs to get replaced every few years. Veradek has thought of everything!
