The answer seems simple. Stop acquiring more books. Easier said than done. I love books and bet if you are reading this post, you do too!

Nothing better than plopping down after a long day and reading. Magazines are great for cooking and gardening inspiration.

For just 25 cents each, I buy piles of old magazines from the library that are no longer in circulation. But where do they go when I bring them home?

One option~ The Harbor View Library. Bam.

This is where all those books, photo albums, magazines, music books, CD’s and DVD’s can all be shelved. These five shelves. Done.

Trust me….within an hour of assembly of this rustic, cottage beauty you’ll think of a hundred ways you’ll want to use it. 

As an adult, I still love velvet but that love has transferred to furniture. So when I spotted this dark velvet blue chair from Sauder, I knew it was “the chair” for me.

Those satin gold, powder-coated metal legs are not only durable but trendy and chic, too.

Truly, this regal chair from the International Lux collection gets instant admiration from any angle.

Just five minutes after assembly, my two daughters were vying over who was going to get the Lux chair for their rooms! They both wanted to be the first one to sit in the chair.

​Clearly, my children inherited this velvet trait. Must be a genetic thing.

Even my 2-year-old could be found muttering around the house “blue chair”…..”blue chair.”

The Lux chair is special I tell you! It can hold its own against my magnificent terrarium and that’s saying a lot! 

To say that she is becoming “too big for her britches” is the understatement of the year.

She’s growing up way too fast. Just this past week, all princess items were banished from her room. Womp. Womp. {Shedding a few tears here}.

​So we are in the process of eliminating all “princess” indicators from her room and replacing such wares with more sophisticated leanings.

The first step was the Harbor View Library from Sauder.

What a smash hit for us all! She now organizes her vast collection of books, violin and music collection of books, crafting kits and knickknacks on the five generously sized shelves.

It’s also where her humongous collection of trophies, awards and artwork can be displayed.

All on the Harbor View Library. Not on the floor. Can I get an amen?

​Of course I want my daughter to read….I just want all her books to stay in her room not sprawled out all over the house.

Best of all, she is more motivated to keep her room clean because of the Harbor View Library. More pride in her room and her space!

​Priceless. A 9-year-old who picks up her room without me having to holler.

It’s not uncommon in my home for a few lingering guests to find themselves seatless. Consider it our family’s version of musical chairs.

​Whoever finds a seat first… actually gets a seat. The rest can stand or  even sit on the floor.

No fun for the over 40 crowd.

Boo-hoo. Major bummer for them. Literally!

​And it’s not just the holidays that I require more seating for extra guests. It’s all those birthday parties that spring up on me come January and February.

Huge chairs won’t cut it. They take up too much room. And they make me claustrophobic. Besides, they are heavy to move.

This occasional chair? Ideal. So lightweight that your 90-old-grandma can move this chair all by herself and look “oh so chic” sitting in it. Better snap a picture!

I marvel at how all my guests gravitate to this chair~ I’m not sure if it’s the velvet, the modern vibe it boasts or the regal blue color that draws them in. A guest magnet.

​Beauty marries sheer versatility in a small chair that can fit into any space for any lifestyle. 

​I’d hardly call the chair “being assembled”, he just screwed the gold legs on. We’re talking less than 5 minutes and your chair is ready for use.

The Harbor View Library was a bit more intricate to put together. More pieces, more time and a few tools involved. Namely a hammer and a No. 2 Philips Screwdriver.

However, Tom was still able to complete this mini project one Sunday afternoon during the commercial breaks of the Buffalo Bills Game.

That says a lot. All in all in took him about an hour and a half. It’s a lot of screws and such.

Assembly instructions were well-thought out making the process smoother. All the hardware needed was provided down to the tiny finishing nails.

The product is well-engineered as all the pieces fit hand-in-glove together for a more finished look. This also made assembly easier~ the pieces fit as directed.  No fighting holes that don’t match up.

With three adjustable shelves, you create the right amount of space where you want it, but with five shelves total, there’s room for all.

So those big, heavy photo books that are laying around can go on that bottom shelf for easy access. 

​Another problem solved!

Deep enough for any and every type of books you have. I guess you don’t have to throw out your grandma’s encyclopedia’s after all!  

But with Sauder you get a lot more than what you pay for in my estimation.

Not bad for a piece of furniture. And trust me, when you see The Harbor View Library in person you will be equally impressed. It boasts a look that’s a lot more expensive than that price tag reflects. 
 
​The design details are all there. It’s rustic coastal chic but would blend equally well with a country French design scheme. A chameleon of book shelves. 

Regardless of your style, this rich cream  library with hints of beige striping for effect will always look elegant in your home. 

The back of the bookcase has almost a bead board/shiplap look to it that I crave.  

Don’t underestimate those solid wood turned feet on the bottom. Talk about chic, sophisticated and timeless style!

Just a classic and traditional look that will last the ages.

And don’t even get me started on the velvet Lux Chair. Mid-century modern style that is on the pulse of trend for 2020!   

You might want to consider multiple units of the Harbor View to stack them against one another for even extra storage.

Three units would create an amazing bookshelf accent wall and certainly provide enough storage for the whole family.

The Harbor View Library also features cord access through the enclosed back panel for all  of you “can’t see the cords” type of people. {Guilty is charged}.

But Sauder also boasts a Harbor View Library with doors at the bottom. So you can hide what you don’t want guests to see at the bottom of the shelf.

So no one has to see that old VCR player if you don’t want them to. Or your 80’s workout VHS tapes that you don’t use but can’t manage to throw out….yet.
