Do you plant more veggies or flowers? Tough call! Or maybe you are an herb gardener.
Tis the season to get planting and experiment. Planters are fun coming in many shapes, sizes, colors, depths, and textures.
So it’s a thrill to introduce you to these hot-of-the-press planters from New Age Garden! Life is way too short for ugly, cracked planters. It’s time for an upgrade. Planters just as attractive as versatile.
Two separate winners today! One winner for each product featured in this post. So you can win either the elevated or lower rectangle New Age Garden planter boxes. Versatility is the key!
Tell me in the comments which planter you’d prefer to win! Elevated planter retails for roughly $175 and lower planter for about $140.
How to enter to win:
Fill out the ViralKit form at the very bottom of this post: a valid email address is required. This is how the winner is contacted.

How do I describe ECOFLEX- the material these planters are made from?
Maybe it’s easiest to say what ECOFLEX is not. It’s not strictly wood. It’s not plastic either. New Age Pet® products are made with an eco-friendly, proprietary composite blend of materials called ECOFLEX®
These new and recycled polymers and reclaimed wood fiber byproducts combine the benefits of wood and plastic into a material that is attractive and lasts a long time.
To the touch, the product feels like composite and does look like composite. ECOFLEX® is moisture-resistant so many years of use from the product with less visible signs of wear and tear.
ECOFLEX products don’t expand and contract due to temperature and humidity changes like many similar products available on the market.
So ECOFLEX® is durable, long-lasting, and safe as it’s non-toxic. But the icing on the cake is how it is also resistant to rot, mold, and insects.
And, unlike products made entirely of wood that absorbs moisture, ECOFLEX® repels moisture, making clean-up a breeze.

How is the assembly process?
All ECOFLEX products are designed to be quick and easy to assemble. I would say these planters took roughly 20-25 minutes max to put together. Directions are straightforward.
Screws and an allen wrench come in a bright orange bag. It’s pretty obvious how the pieces should be put together even if you didn’t have instructions.
The assembled finished product is fabulous and you will be impressed by how sharp ECOFLEX planters look on your patio, porch, or poolside.
It was raining the day we put these planters together, so we did so under a covered deck. We were pleasantly surprised, that although extremely sturdy, they were movable.
Two fairly semi-strongish people can move these in a jiffy. But after you fill them with soil, you won’t want to move them as they become much heavier. Choose your location wisely.
A bigger challenge is figuring out what type of soil you’ll fill these boxes with. They are 13.6 inches deep. At four feet long and two feet wide requires some dirt!
For bigger planters, I like lining the bottom with a few bags of garden soil, followed by a few bags of manure compost and topping with potting soil. Mix as desired for potting perfection.

Let’s talk about looks & functionality…
While there are many factors when purchasing new planters, aesthetics tops the list. There’s no sense in planting beautiful flowers or cute veggies in an ugly planter. Even the planters’ rectangular shape is stylish.
The color of these New Age Planters is walnut. A trendy dark brown if you know what I mean. Not that hideous brown we all avoid. Dark and chic, spot-on trend.
The darker color also hides dirt and grime, a huge plus as you don’t have to wash them repeatedly all summer to keep them clean-looking.
Low-maintenance planters. You know how it is with white planters! Dirt and grime shows.
Both planters also boast a paneling look, almost like shiplap. As if assembled out of hardwood, but fashioned out of ECOFLEX, a material that will outlast any wood.
Now onto function! Many years ago, I was sent two New Age Garden planters to review, also made out of ECOFLEX. They stay out all winter exposed to sleet and snow. I’m talking about at least 4 harsh winters now!
Then in summer, they get hit with direct sunrays. These planter boxes handle weather elements and extreme temperature shifts well.
Both planters still show beautifully. No cracks or fading, still in excellent condition.
Ironically, I managed to kill the plants in both planters over the winter, but the planters are still in pristine condition. Hydrangeas do not appreciate our harsh winters!

Eyes on the size of the prize…
Each of these planter boxes is the ideal size. Let’s start with the elevated planter which is great for those who don’t want to bend down. Elevated planter boxes are for the over, ahem, 50 crowd; this is the planter box for you!
The elevated planter is at waist level. So stand and plant. It’s that simple. It measures a whopping four feet long and is two feet wide.
In my experience, four feet long by two feet wide is the ideal size for a planter if you want to put veggies in a planter box. Anything smaller doesn’t give plants the room they need to expand.
Its planting depth is 13.6 inches. Deep enough for roots to roam freely but not so deep that it will require lots of soil to fill.
The rectangle planter box that lies lower to the ground boasts a slightly different look. While it’s also four feet long and two feet wide, you will kneel a bit to plant.
It also has a planting depth of 13.6 inches, plenty deep for flowers, veggies, herbs, or whatever your green thumb desires.
I love flowers in the lower box and planting herbs, two tomato plants, a few peppers, and a cucumber plant in the elevated box. But you plant what you enjoy!

Pricing to please for these easy planters…
New Age Garden and New Age Pet products are sold virtually everywhere from those big box stores to smaller outlets like Valu, Tractor Supply Plus, and Chewy. Even Amazon has a great selection.
So depending on where you purchase, the pricing can vary. It’s also possible that certain companies will run sales, so keep your eyes peeled.
But basic pricing is quite reasonable, especially when compared to their composite counterparts. ECOFLEX holds its own against composite but I find it’s much less expensive. So you’ll be able to purchase two planters for the price of one.
The elevated planter retails for about $175 and the lower planter box for roughly $140. Quite reasonable for a planter box that you will be using for many years in a row.
Don’t you feel guilty when your cracked planters only last a season or two and curbside they go come garbage day? It seems so wasteful
It’s nice to invest in a product that will look fabulous for many years to come. The square planter boxes I mentioned earlier in the post are an off-white. They don’t look any different than from the day they were assembled. No cracks, stains or fading.

Easy planters and other awesome products from New Age Garden…
New Age Garden is a spinoff of New Age Pet which is why such a focus is placed on non-toxic! As “green” gardeners who also likely have pets, that’s a huge plus for us!
Yes, I have four kids, but I also have 2 dogs, a cat, 2 Guinea pigs, and more exotic frogs than I can count. So I want to keep anything toxic at bay.
I love the focus this company places on safety. Products that are people, pet, and planet-friendly!
Aside from planters, check out all their amazing animal-related products for dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, chickens, tortoises, or other small animals.
Look for dog crates, dog beds, cat houses, pet cushions, reptile closures, dog feeders and so much more. So this is the place to purchase that trendy yet functional chicken coop. You will own the cutest chicken coop on Planet Earth.
And if you’ve never heard of a dog credenza, now you have! For that cat, check out the little loo, that’s all I’ve got to say.
Until then….fingers crossed you win one of these stupendous planters!

That would be perfect for veggies !!!
I would like the taller one because of some physical limitations.
At my age and with a bad back, I really need to have planters I don’t need to bend over for.
I would love to win the elevated planter. Thank you 🙂
I love those planters! I’d enjoy either one. hehe
I would love to win either one of these
Definitly need the elevated, and being disabled id probably get some wheels to put on itso i can move it wherever i need it to go.
I can’t wait to start my garden ☺️
Any product that tries to be friendlier to the environment is a win for me!
Beautiful vessels to connect with nature.
Thank you for offering them!
Beautiful.
I don’t like saying that I have limitations! Unfortunately, I inherited some from old age and health issues! Bending or kneeling are things I can’t do anymore. So the taller planter would be best for me, but I wouldn’t turn away the smaller one either! They both are wanted for my yard!! Thank you for the opportunity!
I like the larger one because if I plant something that cascades, it will have more room to floe from the pot.
They both look nice. I’d prefer the elevated planter.
It’s always fun to find beautiful new planters.
I have wanted to start my own garden for so long. Thank you for the inspiration!
I would need the higher one
moving to a new apartment where I will have a nice sized balcony perfect for some container gardening. Love to get the raised planter, save my back and knees. Thank you
My mom would love these!
Thank you for the opportunity to win a raised garden bed!
This would be sweet on my deck!
Very nice, very versatile!
Elevated planter
Tall one would be great
I love these and they are high enough to enjoy them.
It’s hard for me to bend over at my age, so I would love an elevated planter, for my deck. Thanks for having the contest!
The taller planter box would def be help….no one warns you that all the injuries you experienced in your life come back to bite you once you hit 50 or so. Those chickens are coming home to roost for me in my new life phase now….I’d love to be able to continue my love of plants and the outdoors long after my typically aging body begins to disappoint and betray me! I will NOT go gently into that good night!
I really like the Elevated Planter
I really like the Elevated Planter but it says duplicate comment?
I would love these but it won’t send me the confirmation code.
I would choose the elevated planter. It would be easier on my back. Thanks for the giveaway.

This would be Such a Thrill for me!❤️ I would probably prefer the Vegetable Elevated Planter best as I regularly grow vegetables every year! 🧅🥕🍅🥬🍉🍓
I actually just started trying my hand at flower gardening last year and am still learning, 🌷🌹🌸🌼🌻but I’m sticking with it! 👍🙂
This would be great! Being able to work on my garden without bending over!!!
Have the right place for them!
I would love to have an elevated planter box. I usually plant a vegetable garden annually. At my young age of 72 having an elevated planter would make the task a bit easier to do.
These would be great on my deck, so the deer will stop eating everything.
I would love an elevated planter!
I have had these types of planters in past. I would like to do this again.
Always looking for ways to improve my veggie crops.
Really love both of these (and this company!). This article really has me thinking about some elevated planters for our deck now!
I would love the elevated one for my lettuce garden so the bunnies wouldn’t get at the fruits of my labor. However, the shorter one would also work for my dahlia flowers!
I love this..Would be so good for my knees they are not in the mood anymore to bend over..
Would love either but since recently fell off a ladder fracturing my back & tailbone; the tall choice would be a blessing! TY 4 the opportunity!
I would love this!

I prefer the elevated planter to avoid my local critters.
Beautiful planters. Thanks for the opportunity to win one.
