He absolutely lit up like the 4th of July when the Litter-Robot arrived on our doorstep.

Men and cat boxes
It’s a grueling task. But if you love cats, it must be tackled. Our cat Dusty is an exclusively indoors cat. He’s never allowed out.
We have a sunroom where he can bask for some vitamin D but I’m too afraid to let him wander the neighborhood.
We’d never declaw him but still, we live near a busy street.
This means that we deal with all poop and pee indoors. Sorry to get all graphic on you.
Traditional cat boxes are disgusting. Enough said!
You are coming face to face with cat poop and pee. Both smell horrible.
So what would life be like if the cat box virtually changed itself?
Enter: The Litter-Robot.
How the Litter-Robot works in a nutshell…
Just think about that! No poop clumps in a scoop. Let’s do this!
The cat enters the Litter-Robot through a small ramp. This is awesome for elderly cats!
The ramp also reduces litter being tracked around your house by catching it on the way out.
This is because the cat’s first step is obviously on the ramp…not your floor.
The textured surface helps remove litter from your cat’s paws. The raised lip around the edge of the ramp catches tracked-out litter, so all you have to do is vacuum it up!
We all win.
And please don’t fret like Tom did the cat won’t use the ramp.
Your cat will use the ramp. And your cat will love the Litter-Robot almost as much as you love your new Litter-Robot.
Trust me on this one.
When the bag is full, you simply open the drawer and pull out the bag. Hello easy poop and pee disposal!
Accessing the waste drawer is kind of like opening the bottom of a printer.
You pull out the plastic poo and pee bag from under the Litter-Robot and throw it in your outdoor garage can.
So you’ll just lift the ramp off the step and set it aside. Access the waste drawer like normal, then replace the ramp on the step and your Litter-Robot is ready for use again.
And yes, Tom relishes every opportunity to empty the cat box now. I wish I were kidding, but I’m not.
Waste bag wonders…such an eco-friendly product!
No plastic waste with the Litter-Robot. They are custom fit for the Litter-Robot so you will definitely want a bunch on hand.
With only one cat, our Litter-Robot needs to get emptied roughly once every two weeks. Rarely more.
Each bag has about a 9-11 gallons of usable capacity. Lots of room for the poop!
And they fit “hand-in-glove” to the waste drawer. Easy peasy to put in and pull out.
You can buy 25, 50 or 100 waste drawers at a time. My advice is to splurge and buy 100 as they come out to under 50 cents each then. Worth. Every. Penny.
So we’re all going “green” with the brown stuff. Ugh. I can’t believe I just typed that!
And the Litter-Robot uses a lot less litter than traditional litter boxes! We estimate that we are using about 50% less cat litter each month.
Not only does this make the Litter-Robot more environmentally friendly but we are spending less money on cat litter.
As a side note, make sure you buy the non-scented clumping cat litter so you don’t have to change the carbon-filter as often.
Top 7 reasons why Tom is in love with the Litter-Robot
The clumping litter gets filtered and dropped in the bottom compartment. This takes the poop and pee away from the litter box into a separate storage compartment. The Litter- Robot also has a carbon-filter that blocks those nasty smells! So you can place your Litter-Robot anywhere in the house with no fear of yucky scent. Even the kitchen!
2) 99% of the litter stays in the box
Dusty is a very messy cat. He loves to spray the cat litter everywhere in the room. The Litter-Robot’s design keeps the litter in the box when Dusty starts spraying it.
3) The cats nails don’t break the liners!
I hate it when the pee and poop seep into the litter box when the bag breaks! The smell…the cleaning…it’s gross.
4) No scooper is needed
The Litter-Robot does the scooping for me so I never have to scoop cat litter again.
5) The Litter-Robot is WiFi-enabled so my phone tells me when the litter box is full.
The notifications are super nifty to get telling me when the box is full.
6) I only have to empty the litter compartment once every two weeks!
With one cat I’ve found I can get away with at least two weeks between pulling out the bag. If you have multiple cats it could be once or twice a week.
7) The night light.
None of us like stumbling around at night to find the bathroom. With the vibrantly bright blue light, your cat will find their way to their newfound potty “globe”
The Litter-Robot while you are away on vacay……
Even weekend trips can stress us out!
You know how cats are. They like to use a clean box.
That litter box must be changed frequently or bad things can happen.
Like the cat peeing in unexpected places like your suitcase or shoe bin. I’ve experienced this firsthand!
Tom loves pulling the Litter-Robot app up on his phone and having that peace of mind that the cat box is ready to go, cycled and clean.
We both find the waste level gauge particularly amusing!
The gas tank simile is cute, effective and lets us know the status.
The stellar technology of the Litter-Robot
Tom’s heart flutters when those Litter-Robot notifications pop up on his phone.
He customized his alerts to find out when the Litter-Robot is cycling, the drawer is full, or the unit for whatever reason paused.
You can even connect multiple Litter-Robot units to the app!
It’s great that you can turn the night light on/off from your phone and adjust the wait time if need be.
The Litter-Robot will never start to cycle when in use (potentially scaring the cat) and you choose the wait time after the cat has done the deed.
Three minutes till the unit cycles? Seven minutes? Fifteen? What works for you and your cat/cats?
It’s also nice to know how many times a day the cat “goes.”
How many times has a vet asked this very question and you have no clue?
What pet owner wants to hover over the cat box all day to determine this?
Now you don’t have to. The Litter-Robot lets you know how many times daily/weekly/monthly the cat has gone. Nice!
Got multiple cats?
They don’t like a dirty bathroom. (Neither do I!)
Don’t get me wrong, one thing I love about cats is that even if there is already “stuff” in the litter box, they’ll still use it.
But they don’t like it. They want to use a clean litter box.
So at this time I only have one cat (although I dreamt last night I got a pink polka-dotted cat)… no more Swedish Fish before bed now.
You’ll appreciate the Litter-Robot even more if you have multiple cats.
Buffy is going to be thrilled that both Muffy and Duffy’s poop and pee is gone before she uses her new Litter-Robot to poo.
Final thoughts…
And of course, the homeowners can’t smell it because it’s “their” house.
I’ve been to a few homes like this and it’s disgusting. You gotta love people who love animals. Cats and dogs in particular!
But the smell. Yikes. I mean, you love the person just not the pee and poop. Ya know?
The Litter-Robot solves the poop and pee problem in a big way.
Truly, the Litter-Robot gets the “waste” out of your life quickly and effectively without you coming directly in contact with it.
Tom’s greatest fear was that our cat wouldn’t like the Litter-Robot and refuse to use it.
This made me laugh thinking instead that Dusty would love it.
I was right. It only took him a day to explore his new thrown of glory and it’s a real game-changer.
After you experience the Litter-Robot, there’s no turning back. You will never be able to use a traditional cat box again.
Never.
