This. Is. Your. Chair.

A kiln-dried white oak rocker recliner to be specific. A staple of leisure and relaxation.

And with four reclining positions, you can rock and recline simultaneously without levers or springs!

No need to share. Unless you want to be hospitable. Then let a guest try this chair for size.

But don’t expect them to leave anytime soon. So if you’re one of those early-to-bed people like myself, better invite them over for lunch, not dinner.

Breakfast even. Because they won’t want to get up and go home. Besides, where will you take your afternoon nap if a guest is still stretched out in “your chair?”

Seriously (as if I weren’t being serious before) this is the most amazing chair I’ve ever plunked down in.

A head cushion is included for ultimate comfort!

So soothing that it reigns supreme in my backroom den. Inside. Where yes, I sit in it watching Sunday afternoon sports. The only way I could tolerate sports at all.

But you use this chair where it suits you best…either indoors or out. Patio, porch or even poolside. But it does work equally well indoors. Trust me.

So I’m over-the-moon ecstatic for your chance of winning this marvelous kiln-dried white oak rocker-recliner from the one and only Sittin’ Easy company.

And if things couldn’t get any better, Sittin’ Easy is including the foot-rocker which surely will rock your world. In more ways than one.

It’s all about the curvature & that amazing foot rocker!

There’s something magical about the curvature of the back of this chair that quite mystifies me.

It’s perfect. Spot-on perfect. It fits my back wondrously. It’s also incredible how this chair fits both my husband and me ideally at  6′ 2″  and 5′ 3″ respectively.

How many chairs boast this kind of range? Ample proportions accommodating people of different heights and size with ease.

Which is why even though this rocker recliner can withstand the outdoor elements, it’s been a staple in my main living space now for five months.

I found myself dedicating hours of testing time to this rocker recliner to help me find the right words to articulate how comfy it is.

More testing is needed (as I attempted to explain to my husband) so I’ll see you in a few hours after my nap. Ahem.

And don’t even get me started on the foot-rocker.

It’s phenomenal. The icing on your cake. I love sitting with my feet propped up and having the ability to rock them simultantaneously. How about you?

It puts me into relaxation mode. Okay…fine. Nap mode. It also reduces inflammation and my overall stress levels.

The foot-rocker glides along with you lulling you into a trance-like state.

Smaller in size, it gets the job done without taking up much space. I love this additional piece and think you will, too!

How the Sittin’ Easy rocker/recliner is like that “little black dress”

We all have one.

That little black dress. The one that comes out of the closet for parent-teacher conferences. A funeral. A baby or wedding shower. Church even.

Presentable. Clean-cut. Timeless. Traditional.

Sittin’ Easy is that classic black dress.

I love how I can snazz up this chair any way I want with pillows and throws to make it mine.

This is the chair to show off your flair. Southwest style? Yep. Botanical? Bo-ho? Nautical? Seasonal pillows? Go for it.

Picture

Even better, the Sittin’ Easy rocker recliner comes with a oatmeal colored headrest pillow that “hits the spot” if you know what I mean.

Ideally balanced, the back and foot rest adjust simultaneously through four reclining positions.

No levers or springs to contend with. Easy to adjust and no parts that break over time.

Simple mechanisms that will work for the long-haul

So if you want to sit and read in this rocker recliner with a cold one (lemonade) beside you~ you got it.

But if your goal is a nap, put it on that lowest setting and savor the moment.

And there’s two in-between settings for those of us who are a little less decisive.

I have found adjusting this chair to be the easiest system possible. You just pull it forward or backward and you’re done.

Founder Facts!

I’m a curious person. When I team up with a company, I read their background info. All of it.

I like to be in “the know.” It’s vitally important to me that I’m recommending good people to you.

And Sittin’ Easy is the best of the best people. I love working with them!

Founded by Walter and Kim Harper of Eagle Springs, N.C., Sittin’ Easy was born out of this desire to create and manufacture quality outdoor furniture.

Furniture that boasted durability, comfort and environmental sustainability. And might I be so bold to add….eye-popping stellar good looks?

Because Sittin’ Easy furniture is easy on the eyes. Classic and traditional American furniture.

Furniture to last the ages that is both enduring and endearing.

Picture

Walter Harper of Sittin’ Easy did much of his research in antique shops and museums. He discovered most furniture that had weathered that 100-year-mark outdoors were traditionally made out of white oak.

So he decided to use top-grade kiln-dried white oak as the foundation of his wood furniture. Only Appalachian white oak because it’s the most durable type of over 400 oak species.

As a teacher by trade, I appreciate a businessman who has done his homework! Harper observed no porch swings on the market that met his high standards for comfort.

So he vowed to make one…and he did! Imagine the trial and error in designs before coming up with just the right curvature for that swing?

All slats are quarter-sawn for maximum strength with minimum warping. This renders the slats flexible for comfort, yet strong and durable.

Sittin’ Easy is the original. It’s the best. The rest are just imposters!

Easy peasy assembly

Tom is a diehard Buffalo Bills fan. Win or loose, he’s watching the Sunday afternoon game.

I’m always hoping he’ll go outside and tackle some yard work but am never optimistic.

But I will say, he was able and willing to assemble this Sittin’ Easy chair for me during one game.

This was a pleasant surprise for me as I popped out to get a few groceries and by the time I came back mission accomplished.

And he was sitting in it. Watching football…what else?

Perhaps it was fair to say he was motivated, but still, assembly got checked off the list and was simple to do.

The ethos of eco-conscious living

Hand-fashioned out of native North American Appalachian white oak, hardwood furniture crafted by Sittin’ Easy is sustainable making it environmentally sound.

White oak can be re-grown during a human lifetime as these trees grow rapidly. White oak aggressively renew themselves in the wild.

The U.S. Forest Service reports more white oaks growing now than 50 or even 100 years ago! As we look to the future, this trend is expected to continue!

Of over 400 species of oak, white oak is the only one naturally water resistant. Waterproof wood is essential when crafting outdoor furniture, especially if your pieces will be exposed to elements like rain and snow.

Since white oak is naturally decay resistant, there’s no need to treat it with toxic chemicals. Instead, the company promotes an exterior penetrating linseed oil finish.

Let me tell you….their linseed  oil finish is much easier to maintain and use than surface coating finish!

And Sittin’ Easy has been going green before it became trendy to be green~ 40 years of earth-friendly furniture!

In fact, our American forefathers used Appalachian white oak for all the reasons above to makes things like barrels, wagons, fence posts, gristmill water wheels, parts of ships, tools, railroad crossties and farm machinery.

Although I’m not wholly convinced our American ancestors gave a hoot about being eco-friendly!

Kiln-dried furniture is the key to quality….

When buying wood furniture, you want it kiln-dried for quality reassurance.

Because if moisture is present in unseasoned furniture, shrinking and swelling of joints will occur, causing them to work loose and eventually come apart.

Moisture-laden furniture also tends to warp and crack. Sittin’ Easy kiln-dries their white oak to a 7-9% moisture content prior to making furniture.

This process is very expensive to do and can take almost two years to complete.

Sittin’ Easy joints do not come apart because the white oak is pre-shrunk before processing. Robust mortise and tenon joints are glued and pounded in.

Translation: Sittin’ Easy does not cut corners!

And while I’m hammering quality control, the hardware included for assembly are durable steel bolts with a yellow-zinc dichromate plated (golden) finish that lasts much longer than just plain stainless steel bolts.

So when you purchase furniture from Sittin’ Easy, I hope you’re ready for a lifetime of use. Pride of ownership. Ageless use.

Have an heir in mind, too, because you’ll be able to pass these pieces to that favorite relative or friend. Sittin’ Easy furniture is that well-made!

Will you savor your Sittin’ Easy rocker recliner indoors or outside?

After Tom assembled the rocker recliner in my living room den, I was sold. It was staying.

It’s so comfortable that it does make for a fabulous indoor chair, especially with that foot-rocker  that rocks along with you.

But in a fairly sheltered location where the rocker recliner would stay mostly dry could work equally well.

A covered patio, deck or porch would be ideal.

Regardless of the location you choose for your rocker recliner, Sittin’ Easy furniture is made to last long-term, from snowy and/or rainy conditions to the dry desert. So bring on the beach.

After all, Sittin’ Easy furniture has been tested in all climates for over 30 years!

What I’d never do is leave this fabulous chair outdoors year-round. A fretter by nature, I’d worry all winter about it.

Picture

Maintaining your Sittin’ Easy investment!

Just be mindful that furniture used outdoors will be affected by weather so be on the lookout for small cracks and such. You want to maintain your investment!

If I do move this piece to a fully exposed location, I’ll be sure to keep a sharp eye on it annually. Within the first year I’d apply a thin coat of linseed oil.

I’d highly recommend getting a maintenance kit with your purchase for only $50. That 50 bucks buys you peace of mind that you’ll be able to take care of your furniture correctly.

The kit includes that Cabot linseed oil we’ve been talking about!

And don’t you love wood maintenance that doesn’t involve varnishes or polyurethanes that chip, peel or crack? Not to mention that are toxic to inhale while working. No thanks!

Sittin’ Easy recommends this yearly cleaning and oiling to ensure decades (yes…I said decades) of use.

And Sittin’ Easy wants maintenance success for you! Not only does Sittin’ Easy describe in great detail how to care and renew their furniture, there’s a youtube video out there for all of you visual learners.

Hint Hint. It’s not rocket science. It’s gonna take you 10 minutes. Bleach, dry, re-oil to original color with Cabot’s.

I watched their video and suggest you do as well!

Get your back behind U.S. companies!

I love endorsing businesses born and bred right here in the good old U.S.A. When we support a local business, we’re helping people just like ourselves.

People who work hard to support their families through grassroots efforts.

Nice people. People that you’d like to chat it up a bit with a cup of coffee. And a piece of pie. Probably two. One pumpkin and one apple. Please!

If Sittin’ Easy is a new company for you, I’d start by purchasing a rocker recliner to test how much you love their furniture.

Then you’ll want to sample their gliders, swings, planters, chaise loungers, tables and chairs.

Like the menu at an elegant restaurant, Sittin’ Easy offers a finite selection of outdoor furniture of the most premium quality.

Picture

Fewer = Better.

As I get “ahem” older I’m finding I’d rather own less stuff but what I do own and maintain is of a higher caliber.

So it’s more about asking yourself what outdoor furniture will immediately improve your living spaces today.

How will you invigorate your porch, patio, deck and backyard right now to make it the inviting and useable area you’ve dreamed it would be?

And it’s fabulous how Sittin’ Easy located in Eagle Springs, NC is actually on Eagle Springs Road.

Doesn’t get any more local than this, folks!

I can get behind and endorse this type of company. How about you?
