Solar light fan? All hands up in the air! They light up my life. What a gorgeous way to get your garden aglow adding beauty, safety, and depth to your outdoor living space. Can you own too many solar lights? Nope. They look great no matter where you choose to place them whether that’s the perimeter of your landscape, in a pot, planter or flower box, and perhaps best of all…a pathway. Sure, I love real flowers too, but reality is they’ll die on me sooner than I’d like. Not so with these Desert Steel poppy solar lights that will last virtually forever. Oozing warmth and serenity with each step, solar lights make the garden an inviting space. Today, I’m excited for the winner of the poppy garden solar light set from Desert Steel. Yes, that means you win 3 lights (ARV $150). Why poppies are popular!

When we bought my grandma’s house, we inherited her poppies growing in the back perennial beds. They ended up going to seed and producing even more poppies ~ okay that’s if Tom doesn’t torch them first weeding. I love poppies not only for their ruffled petals but because they are deer-resistant. This year I ended up planting hundreds of seeds (California poppy) in Confetti and Orange all over the backyard for a glowing display! We shall see what I get! However, after too short of time they will fade and die. And of course, my 6-year-old picks all the flowers anyhow so I’m rarely left with much. So I get all giddy over these solar lights that shine on all summer!  Brilliant flowers that never fade or die.

Last illuminating thoughts…

Tom loves solar lights. Are you on board? Maybe you have a huge yard or garden to place these stunning poppy lights. But even if you have a pot or planter in an apartment, you can just as easily use and enjoy each one.

Stick one in a pot for daily viewing pleasure. The solar lights by Desert Steel are shorter than their torches. This is preferable, especially when illuminating a pathway because it keeps the light on the ground which is exactly where I want it.

I’m guilty of leaving some of my pots outside all winter because they are too heavy to lug in the garage. By placing a solar light in a pot, it makes them seem a little less sad during the bleak winter months when all my plants have died. It also naturally illuminates my driveway up the sidewalk. This way I can find my way to the door when Tom forgets to turn the outside light on. (Just kidding Tom, you never leave me in the dark!)

And you know just how bright LED lighting is. Seriously, these are the brightest solar lights I’ve ever had! So if your Mother’s Day flowers were a little dull and depressing (the slightly dead leftover ones that got picked over at the grocery store) this is your chance to own flowers that won’t disappoint!
