Multitasking as usual.
It’s not that I’m trying to loose weight during the holidays. It’s more that I’m avoiding excessive weight gain Thanksgiving through New Year’s.
But the sweet tooth must be satisfied. I stumbled across this recipe in my local paper and have been dying to try it for months now.
The frozen bananas that kept falling out of the freezer hitting my feet each time was a real motivator.
It was time.
Time to try this recipe. Time to clean out the freezer. Done. And it’s a slam dunk winner.
I can’t believe that this vegan pumpkin spice banana ice cream could satiate my appetite at a fraction of the calories and fat of “real ice cream.” No fake or phony ingredients in sight!
Now the ball is in your court. You have to try this one! Vegan pumpkin spice banana ice cream is a party in your mouth.
I hope you agree! It’s also what I’d call a forgiving recipe. So if you like a little bit more spice, go for it. If you like your ice cream a little firmer add more banana and a little less almond milk.
If pumpkin thrills your gills, add a bit more. You get the drift.
Ingredients needed for vegan pumpkin spice banana ice cream
Why bananas drive me bananas
But if they sit on the counter for even just a day they get mushy brown spots and no one will touch them. I can’t win!
This leaves me with a tough decision to make. What do I do with all the bananas? Don’t want to waste them. But no one, not even myself will eat a mushy banana. Or one with spots.
Aha! Vegan pumpkin spice banana ice cream. Bingo
Recipe For Vegan Pumpkin Spice Banana Ice Cream
- 2 frozen bananas
- 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (okay I used the vanilla kind!)
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
Approximate calories
Plus I like “knowing” what’s in my food. No fake, phony ingredients.
Instructions for making vegan pumpkin spice banana ice cream
Optional toppings:
- Chocolate shavings

- Sliced almonds
- Raspberries/blueberries/strawberries
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
Finally folks….
So I ended up making 5 batches. And I used up all those frozen bananas in the freezer. Now there’s room for all that celery that I chopped up.
We all won today!

Pumpkin
I’m not confident that this recipe appeals to me, I realize the banana gives it a thickness but the combination doesn’t appeal to me.

We love pumpkin bars, pumpkin bread & pumpkin pies; thus, pumpkin ice cream sounds yummy! However, I’d have to omit the bananas, due to personal allergies. (And, prior to the last 10 years I could eat & loved bananas.) Yet, this is a recipe I plan to share. Thank you!

Love your contests & giveaways, but the entry method is horrible. Please come up with an easier way to enter.
I’m sorry GC, I know, widgets can be frustrating. But they are the only way I can eliminate fake and phony entries and people who try to cheat and enter 100 times, that’s the only reason I use one or I wouldn’t, trust me!
I like banana bread, I just got the urge to make some..
Wow! This recipe sounds delicious!
Happy PUMPKIN season!!!
I’m going to add this to my Thanksgiving dinner!
Yay! I feel like you are a photographer? Why do I think this….I don’t know!
Well this sounds like something we have just gotta make in my family 🙂
I always have left-over frozen bananas. This recipe is a great idea and it would be much better than anything else I would use the bananas to make.
I will be trying this. My husband loves anything Banana.
I love pumpkin, however, not to fond of it with bandanas. Just doesn’t sound really ap-peeling (LOL) to me.
That’s okay Rebecca! We don’t love it all, but you might surprise yourself, too. And pumpkin is so nutritious!
I tried this but used lactose-free milk instead of the almond milk. Why? Because that’s what I had in the fridge. I don’t know how that affected the calorie count, but I’m sure it altered the flavor somewhat. It doesn’t matter – it was GREAT! Thanks for my new go-to quick fix dessert recipe!
Thank you Lynn! I’m borderline diabetic so sugar and calories is a big deal for me!

I’m not sure I can do this one, lol. I love bananas, but only by themselves or in banana nut muffins. I can’t do them with smoothies. I have very odd food quirks. 🙂

I am not a fan of pumpkin spice but my grandkids would love this, for sure.
Bananas rarely last long enough in this family to even have to think of something to do with those which become a little over-ripe. There is someone in the family who likes them at all stages, from slightly green to definitely ripe!
Nice! I already make Banana Ice Cream in my Vitamix so, this recipe should be quite easy!
I am not vegan or anything else, but that actually sounds delicious to me! Thanks for the intriguing recipe!
Sound Healthy and delish!
I could see myself cooking this for the holidays comming up .
That really sounds good.
Oh yummy, this sounds delicious, I’m going to get some bananas and get making this. Thanks for sharing!
I love bananas 🍌 When I was fighting cancer, my nutritionist advised me to eat a banana a day. He told me that bananas were the perfect fruit 🍌 This sounds like something this Diabetic can eat! I know what you mean about the description of a good banana! If my kids would see a bruise after they peeled the banana, I had to cut it out! I try not to go crazy eating pumpkin foods throughout the year, so I can pig out with all of these different yummy recipes! This is one of those recipes – especially when ice cream is involved. I would add a little more spice. I also would consider those extra ingredients- except the fruit ones. I don’t want to cover up the other fruits that are already included in this recipe! Thank you for sharing!!
The secret word is PUMPKIN
I am going to give the pumpkin spice banana ice cream a try this weekend to take with me to an early T’day dinner!! I can’t wait!!

This ice cream sounds and looks yummy I can’t wait to make it. I love ice cream of most kinds.
Thank you for something a bit different!
I now have an ice cream machine. Wondering if I can incorporate this recipe so I can use it with the machine. Also, I want to try it with adding some coffee beans for caffeine and maybe a few chocolate chips and no soy milk, but real milk. I do like fried tofu, but not almond or soy milk. Ice cream for me is real cream and/or milk which would work if using an ice cream machine.
Interesting.
This is a guilt free yet super tasty dessert!!
Looks like a yummy treat. Thank you
I always like trying new recipes. Thanks!
I really enjoy pumpkin and will have to try this recipe maybe even add a few extras in there

I’m actually going to try this. I’ve got this bookmarked to try later. It’s great that it’s only 4 simple ingredients and the calorie count isn’t bad, either.
