Fine Craftmanship for the long haul with the Critters Collection!

I highly doubt Desert Steel could fashion any product I wouldn’t like. Joy in the details. Certainly details of extraordinary craftsmanship.

Desert Steel craftsman are true artisans lovingly making each piece for their customers. Steel pieces of art meant to last the test of time.

And the test of the elements…we’re talking rain, snow, sleet or sun. All of which would wreak havoc on inferiorly made products.

Yet over the years, I’ve never fretted over leaving my Desert Steel solar lights and bird feeders out all winter even in our harsh New York winters. They still look fabulous (although a little dirty) as the years roll by.

This translates to many years of usage and enjoyment out of Desert Steel products. Now I have critters to cherish and I truly do not worry about leaving them outside to face the elements.

Although they may patina a bit, I think that only adds to their rustic and natural charm!

Hawk feet

Speaking of details…

Perhaps my favorite part about Henry Hawk and Belinda Bee is how detailed they are in design.

It’s obvious that a lot of time and effort was invested in making these critters lifelike and realistic. So realistic that Tom and I can’t even decide where to put Belinda Bee.

I want Belinda on my mantle but Tom insists she should be outside on a tree. Decisions! Decisions!

Take a close look at Henry Hawk’s feet. What craftsmanship! How realistic those claws look. Ditto for his little hawk face – those beady orange eyes are staring me down.

Let’s hope they stare down the darn squirrels, too. That hooked beak? What a stunner.

It’s the same for Belinda Bee, so many details that simply can’t be overlooked. Wings that appear as if they could take off in flight at any moment. Six little bee legs that will melt your heart.

And don’t even get me started on those two large compound eyes. So lifelike.

No wonder I want to position her on my mantle where I will see her first thing in the morning. Let’s help our furry friends!!

If you are using Henry Hawk to protect your garden, maybe order two to protect each side. Tom and I are at the point where we will try anything to keep those squirrel and rabbits from feasting on our veggies.

Henry Hawk to protect us!

So maybe I’m crazy. Or maybe Tom is. Or perhaps it’s the both of us. But we decided the best place for Henry Hawk was outside our raised beds.

The hope? That Henry Hawk will protect our produce from squirrel and rabbits. It’s a good thought!

Since our plants are still small, it’s too soon to call this one but the hope exists.

Even though Tom and I have a 4-foot fence surrounding our raised beds, those silly squirrel and rabbit folk tend to hop the fence via the trees and destroy our veggies.

What makes me the most mad? That half the time, they don’t even eat the tomato or pepper they’ve attacked. They just put a hole in it, mangle it and leave it. Ugh.

But maybe they’ll feel a tad bit threatened by Henry Hawk looming over them, maybe they’ll actually think they might get eaten. You never know!

But you use Henry Hawk or Belinda Bee inside or outside ~ the choice is completely yours!

For being so diminutive in stature, you are going to be surprised at how heavy Belinda Bee is (for her size!)

Quite honestly, I don’t see how you will be able to buy just one bee in the critters collection. You are going to want at least three!

And use one of those for a bee centerpiece on your outdoor dining table!

We have a lot of raptors where we live, but not many hawks. I wonder if your dogs will try catch Henry Hawk? Mine would.
