I love real pumpkins….really I do. Even better are roasted pumpkin seeds from real pumpkins. Nutritious and delicious.

But I ardently dislike pumpkin guts. Sticky. Slimy. Gunky. Life comes in cycles and I’m in a phase (baby #4!!!) that any extra chaos is a deal breaker.

My 9-year-old lured me to the pumpkin patch this past weekend despite my misgivings. Of course I was hesitant to venture in because I knew what the end result would be.

Pumpkins are a lot like people with all their imperfections including warts, bumps and other ugly marks. Some are short and fat and others are tall and skinny. All were coated in a thick coat of dirt!
