Why order glasses online?

Why would you order glasses online? Because shopping at brick-and-mortar stores isn’t that easy these days. That’s why in a nutshell!

With limited hours, limited staff and limited supplies, ordering glasses online is the best way to avoid the hassles of the traditional brick and mortar glasses store.

Besides, when I order glasses online, I don’t have to drag three unwilling kids with me complaining they are hungry on the trip.

A win-win. Ordering glasses online is extremely convenient. After you place your order, you can expect your glasses from Payne Glasses to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Rush options are available for a small extra fee.

I was content with the 2-3 week timeframe and noted my glasses were on my doorstep in two weeks from the day I ordered. That’s pretty fast service! I never had to leave my house and could shop in my flannel pj’s.

I also liked being able to take my time checking out frames. I always feel so rushed at a “real” store. Almost as if like they are peering over my shoulder while I try to make my selection.

When my glasses arrived!

Patience isn’t always my strong suit. So when my Payne Glasses arrived in the mail, I had that box ripped open and was trying on the frames within minutes.

Forget lunch. Forget the laundry. Time to model my new glasses for the kids. And it was thrilling. Life’s little joys!

The frames were almost exactly what I was expecting based on the photos on their website. Always a good sign!

Both pairs of glasses were enclosed in an easy to open and shut case and included a microfiber cloth. Those cloths are so handy when glasses get dirty.

There was also a monocular PD measurement ruler included which is useful if you want to double check your PD.

I was pleased with how they looked. Tom even noticed that I was wearing new glasses~ a rarity for him!

Best of all, they felt super lightweight on my face.

How ordering glasses online works…

The key to success in ordering glasses online is having your prescription on hand. Keep in mind your contact prescription differs from your glasses prescription so have the right one!

You also need your pupillary distance (PD) and to know what your cylinder and axis is. If you haven’t updated your prescription in awhile, I suggest you do so before ordering glasses online.

Now the fun part. It’s time to shop frames! Sometimes it’s easier to just dive in looking at all the colors, materials and shapes to get the gist for what you like and what style suits your face.

If you already know what you like, you can certainly go to the top tool bar and start making your selection. That’s what I did! Then you enter your prescription which is saved in your profile for future use!

I was quickly about to find two frames that I knew would be perfect for me!

Finally, choose your lens type. Payne Glasses makes good suggestions so you don’t end up with Coke bottle glasses. My biggest fear when ordering glasses online. It’s that easy with Payne Glasses!

How I selected frames from Payne Glasses

I know what you’re thinking. How in the world can I order frames that suit my face without actually having tried them on?

It’s a lot easier than you think. Of course checking out their “New Arrival”s and “Best Sellers” is never a bad idea. You can also check out their “Featured Styles” and “Popular Now” options to see what’s trending!

But I much prefer shopping by style where I can select between color, shape and material. This is where personal preference shines through. You know what colors you like already.

But you might have to think a little harder about the material. Do you prefer plastic, stainless steel, metal, memory titanium, TR or acetate?

Then it’s onto frame shape. I know that dark, rectangle frames flatter me best. But you choose what works for you and your face. That might include oval, cat eye, square, aviator, round or browline.

Payne Glasses has a stupendous selection and you’ll be able to find many frames that suit your style, taste and budget.

Finally, 1.74 high-index glasses were a game-changer for me! I think you’ll agree.

Why I liked my Payne Glasses experience

So there’s a lot to love about Payne Glasses starting with price. I was able to get two pairs of prescription glasses with the darkening lenses for under $125.

That’s good pricing. Better than paying well over $100 for just one pair of glasses in a brick-and-mortar shop.

Secondly, their website is incredibly simple which makes it user-friendly. Just use the top toolbars to select from men’s, women’s, kids, sunglasses or accessories. Easy peasy. Scroll down to fine-tune your selections.

When you make your final frame selection, there’s a handy chart that provides all the specifics including material, weight, width, and whether is has spring hinges and nose pads among other details.

This is helpful to ensure you are ordering exactly what you want. A refreshing reminder. The pictures are huge and accurately reflect the frames you will get.

Finally, I appreciate how you set up a profile with Payne Glasses with your current prescription so anytime you want to order another pair of glasses, your prescription is always entered and you can just select the frames.

Payne glasses is quick and easy.

Final thoughts about ordering glasses online with Payne Glasses

Truly, ordering glasses online with Payne Glasses was fun, quick and efficient. In the span of 30 minutes, I could surf through hundreds of frames until I found ones I knew I would like.

I went with the Murdock frame in brown havana and the Palisades in blue. Trendy and pretty! What more could I want?

I know. I also want lenses that are clear indoors but auto tint dark when exposed to sunlight. If you’ve never tried lenses with the auto tint, you haven’t lived.

Confession time: I used to wear sunglasses on top of my glasses. Not very attractive. I actually got mocked by my family and friends for doing this. I suppose I did look silly with two pairs of glasses on.

So the auto tint really solved my problem. You can tint to brown or gray and both are great options!

Last…I’ve noticed that Payne Glasses does run deals from time to time on their website so keep your eyes peeled for them. Who can resist a good deal?

I could really use some prescription sunglasses. Much better price point than the local eye doctors.
